It is very important that every student has a completed Emergency Form on file in the Health Room. Therefore, when a student gets sick at school a pass would be obtained from the teacher to go to the Clinic. If the body temperature is elevated, 100.5 or above, the parent/guardian will be notified. The student with minor complaint will be encouraged to return to class. South Creek does not have a Nurse, the Clinic is staff by a Health Assistant.
Students needing occasional medications, such as antibiotics, are to take these medications at home, if possible. Medication that is prescribed three (3) times a day can be given before a student comes to school, after school, and again at bedtime. However, if medication MUST be given at school, it must be accompanied by a written authorization from a parent/guardian and in the original container and delivered to the Health Room via an adult and not a student. Students are not to carry any medication, over-the-counter or prescribed, at any time during the school day. Students that must carry an Epi-Pen and or an Inhaler may do so with the proper authorization from their doctor and South Creek. and must carry with them notification from the Health Room. The Health Room Asst. will work with the parent/guardian to ensure the proper documentation is on file.
